Sky Insurance, Inc. is a diversified insurance brokerage firm formed by Sky Financial Group. It began with the acquisition of Picton Cavenaugh, a 100-year old agency from Toldeo, Ohio in 1999. In 2000, three western Pennsylvania firms – Meyer & Eckenrode Insurance Group, Inc., Knox & Knox, Inc. and Hood Insurance were acquired. These three firms have a combined history of over 200 years and have become the Pennsylvania Region of Sky Insurance, Inc. Several additional agencies have been acquired since then, making Sky Insurance, Inc. of the top 40 insurance brokerage firms in the country.
Sky Insurance, Inc. now has 353 employees in 15 offices writing $575 million in premium. We are divided into two regions with 100 of our employees in the Pennsylvania region and the balance in the Ohio region. The Pennsylvania Management team includes Gary Dennis, Regional Manager, Kevin B. Palermo, Sales Manager, Robert E.
