Bodytech Health & Fitness, the Iceoplex, St. Clair Hospital and other Southpointe businesses have designed a program that offers wellness seminars, health screenings, and fun fitness events. All participants who lose at least 5 lbs. will be entered into a drawing to win prizes. The challenge is a
little harder for CEOs, who not only have to lose 5 lbs.; but also have to make sure 10% of their employees are participating, to be eligible for prize drawings! If you'd like to take the challenge,
it's not too late to join in - see details below.
During the month of June, employees who accepted the challenge were invited to enjoy a myriad
of events: Dr. Tyson Swigart of Southpointe Chiropractic and Fitness presented ways to increase longevity and boost energy. Fleet Feet Sports hosted a seminar and fitness walk. Janet Hignett of
Fleet demonstrated power walking and running to make the most of your training time. Another seminar entitled, "What to Do About Saddle Bags and the Xtra Inner Tube Around Your Waist"
was presented by Michele Pasula, of Health Excellence.
Education is great, but nothing works like getting out there and joining in some fitness activities
and there were plenty in June. Drop-A-Ton participants got their chance to try "Tae Bo with Gino"
45-minutes of kickboxing aerobics for beginners to advanced participants. For the walkers in the crowd, there were several "Power Walks" on June evenings. And, for those who wanted to work
off their bellies, an awsome abdominal class called "T.O.R.S.O" (Tummies Of Rock Solid Obsession) was offered. A group of ten people took a 30-minute stationary bike ride on their lunch breaks by using the spinning machines at the Bodytech "Spinning X-press" class. There were also pick-up basketball games every Tuesday and Thursday at lunchtime. All in all, it was a great month for
fitness in Southpointe.
Participants can weigh in monthly or wait until September 30th and weigh in at the grand finish.
If you are interested in participating in any events you can still join now at BodyTech.
